Invasor, the 2006 Horse of the Year, was retired yesterday when a cracked bone was found in his right hind leg. The injury to the sesamoid bone was discovered after a workout at Belmont Park.

The "project formerly known as 'Halo 3: Recon' will now be known as 'Halo 3: ODST,' developer Bungie wrote on its official web site today.

The standalone Halo 3 expansion pack, a stealth-involving prequel to the Xbox 360 shooter that details the invasion of Earth from the perspective of an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST), was announced earlier this year.

The new name is "literally pronounced 'Oh-Dee-Ess-Tee' and not 'ohdst,'", Bungie noted. The game is said to pack 3-5 hours of single-player gameplay and will hit retailers next fall, with Bungie recently stating it is not viewed as a $60 title.
